On March 27, local immigrant rights organizations and faith and community leaders came together to hold a prayer vigil in front of the Danbury Library in remembrance of immigrant families who have been shattered by deportation and detention.
It was organized by CT Students for a DREAM and the Brazilian Immigrant Center (BIC). Speakers included Rev. Barbara Fast, Minister at Unitarian Universalist Church of Danbury and Rev. Joseph Krasinski, St. James Episcopal Church.
About 40 members of the immigrant and faith community gathered during Christian Holy week in prayer to heal the divisions in our community.
