Since 2010, Boston-area travel lovers have enjoyed the Ciclismo Classico Bike Travel Film Festival. The festival is the only one in the United States to feature films specifically about two-wheeled travel, and it has gained a huge following over the years. This year, for the seventh year of the Festival, they are taking the show on the road and it’s headed to the Hat City this June, to the Danbury Palace Theatre.
Lauren Hefferen, cycling evangelist and founder and CEO of Ciclismo Classico, says she started the festival to celebrate all things biking, because it is one of the most empowering ways to see the world. “There are all sorts of specialty, niche film festivals,” she said. “Why not one for bicycles?”
The mission of the Ciclismo Classico Bike Travel Film Festival is to showcase the best bike travel films by professional and amateur filmmakers, featuring short films that depict the adventure, humor and growth inherent in two-wheeled journeys.
The festival comes to the Danbury Palace Theatre on Friday, June 17 at 8pm. Tickets are only $15 in advance or $20 at the door. For more information and tickets, visit www.palacedanbury.com or call 203-794-9944.
Ciclismo Travel has been sharing their passion for immersive bicycle tours, photography trips and hiking experiences in Italy, France, Belgium, Spain and beyond. The Ciclismo Classico Bike Across France tour was recently honored as a national Geographic Traveler “Tour of a Lifetime.”
