Brazilian Day Annual fosters global citizenship

With a vision to stir up appreciation for different nationalities and encourage cultural assimilation and exchange among fourth grade students at Strong School in Southington, CT, Alessandra Ozimkoski and her little trouper, daughter Jasmine, held the fourth annual Brazilian Day, celebrated in great style in the month of April.

The day was nothing but a great success, engaging students eager to learn everything about Brazil, from Samba to soccer, from food to Brazilian currency; students had a little taste of what makes Brazil a desired destination.

Strong students also had an opportunity to meet with a macaw named Rock, a 13-year old Brazilian bird who gave a brief demonstration by walking on the floor of the gymnasium.
