Saturdays with the Mayor at City Hall

Last year, I held several Saturday morning meetings that were open for the public to attend and speak to me about their problems, suggestions and concerns. I had many residents take advantage of the meetings and received wonderful feedback. As a result, I have put together a new schedule for 2008.
I am again inviting Danbury residents to join me on Sa-turdays, once a month, for open discussions regarding Danbury. “Saturdays with the Mayor” will take place every third Saturday of the month, with Town Hall meetings taking place in February, June and December.
Saturdays with the Mayor will be held from 9 am to 12 noon at Danbury City Hall in the Mayor’s Office. The first opportunity to visit with me was in January, but we are having the first Town Hall meeting in February. The public meeting is taking place on Wednesday, February 13th, 7:00 pm at the Broadview Middle School auditorium.
I would like to extend this invitation to any residents with concerns or ideas about our city, as well as those who would simply like to stop in and say hello.
These gatherings help me get a better sense of the needs and wants of all our citizens. Our residents are a source of suggestions, compromises and solutions for many of Danbury’s challenges, and I am looking forward to meeting with each of you.
Saturdays with the Mayor at City Hall were a success in 2007, providing residents with the opportunity to meet me, some for the first time, and to become involved in discussing important matters facing our residents, neighborhoods and the entire community.
No appointments will be taken for Saturday meetings. Residents can speak to the Mayor on a first-come-first-serve basis. Town Hall meeting dates and locations will continue to be announced as they approach. The currently scheduled Saturdays with the Mayor are:
-February 13th – Town Hall meeting
-March 15th – Saturday with the Mayor
-April 19th – Saturday with the Mayor
-May 17th – Saturday with the Mayor
-June – Town Hall meeting
-July – no meetings
-August – no meetings
-September 20th – Saturday with the Mayor
-October 18th – Saturday with the Mayor
-November 15th – Saturday with the Mayor
-December – Town Hall Meeting

Programa “Sábados com o Prefeito”

No ano passado, realizei inúmeras reuniões abertas ao público nas manhãs de sábado para conversar sobre problemas, ouvir sugestões e a expressão de suas preocupações. Muitos moradores aproveitaram estas oportunidades e obtiveram um retorno positivo. Por esta razão, já programei a nova agenda para as reuniões com os residentes durante o ano de 2008.
Gostaria mais uma vez de convidar a população para reunir-se comigo uma vez por mês para um diálogo aberto sobre a nossa cidade.
Os “Sábados com o Prefeito” acontecem no terceiro sábado do mês com reuniões com os residentes agendadas para os meses de fevereiro, junho e dezembro. Estes encontros acontecem das 9hs às 12hs no Gabinete do Prefeito.
A primeira oportunidade para me visitar foi em janeiro, mas a primeira reunião pública acontecerá na quarta-feira, 13 de fevereiro, às 19h, no auditório da Escola Ginasial Broadview.
Gostaria de estender este convite a todos os residentes que tenham preocupações e idéias para a nossa cidade ou aqueles que simplesmente gostariam de passar no meu gabinete para uma conversa rápida.
Estas reuniões me ajudam a ter uma idéia mais concreta sobre as necessidades dos nossos moradores, os quais são uma boa fonte de sugestões, cooperação e soluções para muitos dos desafios que enfrentamos em Danbury. Será um prazer poder sentar e conversar com cada um de vocês.
Em 2007, estes encontros tiveram um resultado muito positivo, oferecendo aos residentes a oportunidade de me conhecer, alguns pela primeira vez, e participar de discussões sobre assuntos importantes para eles, para suas vi-zinhanças e toda a comunidade.
Não é preciso marcar horário para as reuniões de sábado, todos serão atendidos por ordem de chegada.
As datas e os locais para as reuniões continuarão sendo anunciados à medida em que os respectivos meses se aproximam. Os novos “Sábados com o Prefeito” serão nos dias:
