Economic Development Fund comes to Danbury

The "CEDF," as it's known, is a nonprofit organization that helps business owners by awarding low-rate, flexible loans as well as training programs. The agency headquartered in Meriden, has been helping small businesses throughout Connecticut for 15 years and this week, it's venturing into the Greater Danbury area. To introduce itself in the area, CEDF is holding a "Seminar for Small Businesses Looking for Flexible Capital," from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. on May 13 at Danbury City Hall. According to Donna Wertenbach, the organization's chief executive officer, beneficiaries typically are seeking capital but fail to meet traditional banks' financial guidelines. P.22
