AMERICARES HAS A NEW FACILITY

After 15 years of service at the Main Street facility, the AmeriCares Free Clinic of Danbury is now at a new location at 76 West Street, in Danbury.

The clinic will continue to serve the medical needs of the local working lowincome population, always fulfilling its mission to provide free quality health care, not only to low-income, but also to uninsured residents of southwestern Connecticut.

One of clinic's most important goals is that the staff preserves and protects the dignity and self-respect of all who come through its doors, treating all patients with the utmost courtesy and attention. For more information, call (203) 748-6188.

KIDSGAMES SOCCER CLINIC

Parents are always on the lookout for fun and healthy activities to entertain their children in the summertime.

The KidsGames Soccer Clinic is certainly an excellent choice. An initiative of the Athletes of Christ, a non-profit organization, and KidsGames, the program aims to create a safe and clean environment where children from 5 to 14 years old can learn valuable skills and showcase their talents and creativity through soccer.

The registration fee is $50, which includes a jersey and medal. Scholarships are available. You can't afford to miss it!

For registration and additional information, please call Ronildo Silva at 203-240-3708.

INTERFAITH PEACE CAMP

More fun for the little ones! From June 13 thru 17, children from ages 9 to 12 can gather to have fun and make new friends while camping at a different site each day: including a Christian Church, Buddhist Temple, Islamic Mosque, Jewish Synagogue and the Native American Grounds.

But not to worry! Parents or guardians will be mailed precise driving directions to drop off and pick up their children each day at a different local congregation.

Sports, yoga, dance movements, games, cooking and crafts are just some of the activities available. There will also be lunch, healthy snacks & refreshments provided, with all supplies for games, crafts and inter-active activities included in the Peace Camp package.

The Peace Camp is sponsored by the Association of Religious Communities (ARC). The cost of the Camp is just $70 for the week, but 100% scholarships are available to waive the costs if needed. Space is limited to 25 children, so you'd better hurry! For more information, call Rev. P.J. Leopold at ARC at (203) 792- 9450.

GRANT WILL HELP PREPARE

YOUNG PEOPLE FOR

THE REAL WORLD

With all the economical challenges our country is facing, helping the youth prepare for the real world is certainly a crucial priority. With that thought in mind, the Savings Bank of Danbury Foundation has awarded a $5,000.00 grant to Junior Achievement of Western Connecticut.

The grant will be used to fund JA classes at the Morris Street Elementary School in Danbury. These classes are dedicated to educating students in grades K-12 about entrepreneurship, work readiness and financial literacy through experiential, hands-on programs.

And what they learn helps their community grow as well, by showing them how to generate wealth and effectively manage it, how to create jobs that make their communities more robust, and how to apply entrepreneurial thinking to the workplace. Students will have an opportunity to put these lessons into action and to learn the value of contributing to their communities.
