The VII Cine Fest Petrobras Brasil-NY, an official event of New York Summer, comes

"Simonal -  No one knows how tough it was" "Simonal - No one knows how tough it was" back to Manhattan, from August 2 through 7. Nominated by New York City Hall as the biggest hit of the summer, Cine Fest will gather an audience of more than over 20,000 to watch Brazilian films.Produced by Inffinito, the event starts in great style at Central Park, with a traditional night of the New York style summer, combining movie screenings and music. The event is free of charge and an estimated 5,000 people are expected to watch the feature "Se Eu Fosse Você 2" (If I were You 2) by Daniel Filho.

Before the outdoor screening, vocalist Silvia Machete will take the stage to introduce songs from her new CD, "Eu Não Sou Nenhuma Santa" (I am Not a Saint).The festival continues for five days, with the screening of 15 Brazilian features, of which 13 are competing for The Crystal Lens Award, presented to the best feature-length film as chosen by the public on August 7.In addition to box office sensations such as "Divã" (In Therapy), "Romance," "Simonal - No one knows how tough it was," and the documentary, "Loki - Arnaldo Baptista" , the festival will show several films not yet been released in movie theaters, such as "Coração Vagabundo" (Wandering Heart) by Fernando Grostein, "Andrade," a documentary about singer Caetano Veloso's last tour of his first album, recorded solely in English, and "Hotxuá," a poetic record of the indigenous Krahô tribe, by Letícia Sabatella and Gringo CardiaThe opening night of Cine Fest Petrobras Brasil-NY is August 2 at 6:00 p.m. at Central Park SummerStage, located on Rumsey Playfield at 72nd Street and Fifth Avenue.
