The Sports League of Latin America of the City of Waterbury recently celebrated its inauguration on July 20 with the presence of Mayor Michael Jarjura along with other local authorities The Sports League of Latin America of the City of Waterbury recently celebrated
its inauguration on July 20. The mayor of Waterbury, Michael Jarjura, along with city official Emilio Davis, who was part of the Dominican Republic national selection in 1974, will be directing the youth program. July Guichardo will be the director for the children ages 7 to 10 and Hector Fortune and Jose Hamlets will be directing children ages 3 to 6. Hector Ventura, President of the Sports League of Latin America in Waterbury, said, "It's an honor for me to serve the city of Waterbury with a sports league as well as the surrounding cities."
Ventura said others that helped in the organization of the inauguration include Victor Dias, Michael J. Dalton, Richard L. Bouffard, Ramon "The Barber," Victor Ramos and all the parents who have supported the league.
