On Sunday, September 20, more than one hundred members of the Brazilian

community joined the Mayor of Bridgeport Bill Finch and Deputy Consul General Nestor Forster for the Sixth Annual Brazilian Flag-Raising ceremony at City Annex.

Twelve-foot balloon arches by Claudia of Over the Rainbow depicting the colors of the Brazilian flag beautifully decorated the entrance of the building where the event was held.

After the welcome remarks by Emanuela Lima, Tribuna's Editor, Pr. Augusto Arana of the New Jerusalem Assembly of God Church gave his benediction, followed by Mayor Finch who thanked the Brazilian community for their contribution to the city.

The enthusiasm of the crowed was described by Deputy Consul General Forster as "a great demonstration of patriotism."
