USB presents Danbury Museum Lecture and Program Series

From celebrations of Danbury's most famous opera singer to genealogy workshops to town history explorations to garden shows, this season's Danbury Museum Lecture and Program Series promises education and entertainment for everyone.Presented by Union Savings Bank, the series' events kicked off on October 8 and will continue through June 26, 2010. All lectures, workshops, holiday events and performances will be held at the Danbury Museum's campus at 43 Main Street, within either Huntington Hall or the Marian Anderson Studio.

This year's series offers a great variety of programs, such as the First Night on Dec. 31, Marian Anderson Birthday Celebration with Choir performances in Marian Anderson Studio on February 27, and many other exciting activities.

The Danbury Museum and Historical Society, Inc. was established in 1947 to acquire, preserve, exhibit and interpret New England's past, focusing particularly on the heritage of Danbury. Situated in downtown Danbury, the museum preserves the John and Mary Rider House (c. 1785), the Dodd Hat Shop (c. 1790), the Marian Anderson Studio, and the Charles Ives Birthplace.
