Help the American Red Cross recognize Community Heroes

Do you know someone who has performed an extraordinary act of courage to

save a life? Or maybe you know someone who commits countless hours to a special cause?

The Red Cross wants to help you honor and celebrate these individuals at one of its annual Community Heroes Breakfast Celebrations. Each year, the Red Cross joins with people in communities across Connecticut to recognize and honor the people who make service above and beyond the call of duty part of their everyday routine.

Nominate your Community Hero for deeds that occurred between January 1, 2009 and December 31, 2009. Nomination forms must be received by December 31, 2009 to be considered. The nominee must live or work in, or the event must occur in, one of the towns served by the Connecticut Chapter of the American Red Cross. Nominations may be made for both living and posthumous Heroes and they may be nominated in several categories: Firefighter, Law Enforcement (including 911 Operators), Military, Water Safety, Medical Professionals, Animal Rescue, Good Samaritan Adult, Good Samaritan Youth, Community Impact and Spirit of the Red Cross (impact locally, nationally and internationally).

Details about the Heroes Breakfast Celebrations and nomination forms are available at the Chapter's website, www.ctredcross.org/heroes.

Sincerely, Paul D. Shipman Senior Director, Communications and Government Relations American Red Cross Connecticut Chapter
