Kline, CityCenter Danbury Director Andrea Gartner, artist Austé and Ted Killmer With a faltering economy and families planning to spend their savings cautiously, travelling is not always an option for celebrating New Year’s Eve, but it doesn’t mean they won’t celebrate at all.

One great option for folks that are staying in town is the First Night Danbury, which will occur on New Year’s Eve from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m., at more than a dozen indoor and additional street locations throughout the city’s center.

This year’s theme is “Once in a Blue Moon.”First Night Danbury 2009 will surpass all previous years’ festivities, with over 25 solo artists and groups who will entertain hundreds of families and children on New Year’s Eve, thanks to its title sponsor Union Savings Bank and the hard work of the Danbury CityCenter staff and area volunteers.

If you are interested in being a First Night Danbury volunteer in any capacity, please visit http://www.firstnightdanbury. org or contact Jim Whitney at the Northwest CT Convention & Visitors Bureau at 1-888-588-7880 or via email at firstnightvolunteer@yahoo. com.
