Consul-General of Brazil is honored at the 2010 Mayor’s Ball
On Saturday, January 30, Danbury celebrated its 325th anniversary in style—with the 11th Annual Mayor’s Ball—held at the Amber Room Colonnade in Danbury.
The Ball benefited the Danbury Museum & Historical Society and the Danbury Senior Center, both organizations that provide exceptional programs and opportunities for the entire Danbury area community.
Among the numerous local and state dignitaries that attended the event, was the recently-appointed Consul-General of Brazil in Hartford, Ambassador Ronaldo Dunlop, who was honored with a Mayor’s Proclamation welcoming and congratulating the Ambassador for the establishment of a new Consulate General of Brazil in Connecticut.
Dunlop, born in Rio de Janeiro, has served his duties in many different countries, starting his diplomatic career as a Deputy Consul in Berlin-Germany. Since then, he has been designated to various embassies, including Lisbon, Portugal, Luanda-Africa, Buenos Aires-Argentina, Saudi Arabia, England and Beijing-China. In 2003, he became the Ambassador of San Domingo- Dominican Republic. In 2008, Ambassador Dunlop was appointed the head of the Consulate General of Brazil in Hartford, CT.
