Toyota to cover cost of rentals, loaners, tows for recalled vehicles

On February 26, I expressed satisfaction that Toyota has announced—as I demanded—

Corollas 2009-2010 Corollas 2009-2010 it will cover the cost of needed loaner and rental vehicles, as well as towing and expedited repairs, for all its recalled vehicles.

These refunds and repair policies are the least that Toyota should do to make sure that its cars are safe and consumers are compensated for the huge cost and inconvenience imposed by the company’s problems.

I will continue to fight for consumers and to investigate Toyota’s conduct, along with other attorneys general and the federal government.

Toyota’s decision removes a disturbing disincentive for consumers and dealers to fix possibly deadly mechanical flaws.

Drivers and dealers must no longer risk financial loss to assure potentially dangerous vehicles are repaired.

I urge consumers to have their vehicles inspected and, if necessary, repaired as soon as possible.

Tundras 2007-2010 Tundras 2007-2010 Toyota also urged consumers not to wait for recall notices to bring in their vehicles.
