To help support the special grief experienced by siblings, Healing Hearts, a program that provides care, comfort and compassion for those touched by life-limiting illness and loss, will offer a free workshop, “When You Have Lost an Adult Sibling,” to be held on April 7, from 7:00-8:30 p.m.

      New Hope Baptist Church will host a life-affirming seminar entitled, “Through the Storm: The History and Music of the African American Church.” Led by critically acclaimed historian and speaker Dr. Daniel E. Walker, the workshop will examine the trials and triumphs of the African American religious experience in the United States, from the period of enslavement to the present.

Happy Birthday Margaret!
      March 27 was a special day for Margaret Medeiros, who celebrated her 55th birthday while over 400 guests were also celebrating the ninth anniversary of the Portuguese Cultural Center in Danbury. Margaret is a captivating person who has worked in the reception area for over six years at the Ventura, Ribeiro and Smith Law Firm. She was born in the United States but is also fluent in Portuguese.

      Marianela Medrano-Marra will be the featured poet on Wednesday, April 7 at 6:30 p.m. at the Calling All Poets (… and poetry lovers) poetry series, hosted by Victoria Muñoz at the Silas Bronson Library, located at 267 Grand Street in Waterbury, CT. Dr. Medrano-Marra is a Dominican writer and psychotherapist, living in Connecticut since 1990.
