Os Paralamas do Sucesso & Maria Gadu at Central Park SummerStage
The 8 Cine Fest Petrobras Brazil - NY, Official event of New York Summer,
will be staged in Manhattan until June 12, presenting a series of outstanding films from the 1009/2010 Brazilian film scene. The official show will take place at Tribeca Cinemas, with the exhibition of feature films, followed by discussions with representatives of the films after the sessions. Fifteen feature films are being presented, 12 of them in competition.
On closing night, music and cinema come together for a tribute to 50 years of Brasilia, with the performance of one of the most prominent bands in Brazil, Os Paralamas do Sucesso and special appearance by the new Brazilian Pop Music revelation, Maria Gadu.
In addition, there will be a screening of the movie Oscar Niemeyer - Life is a blast by Fabiano Maciel.
The event will be held at Central Park’s SummerStage, on Rumsey Playfield, entrance on 69th Street and 5th Avenue or 72nd and Central Park West, New York City. estará em Manhattan até o dia 12 de junho, apresentando filmes que se destacaram no cenário cinematográfico brasileiro em 2009/2010. A mostra oficial acontecerá no Tribeca Cinemas, com a exibição de longasmetragens, seguida de debates com representantes dos filmes após as sessões. Estão sendo apresentados 15 longas-metragens, 12 dos quais estão em competição. Na noite de encerramento, em 12 de junho, música e cinema iram se unir para um tributo ao aniversário de 50 anos de Brasília, com a apresentação de uma das bandas mais admiradas do Brasil, Os Paralamas do Sucesso, e a nova revelação da MPB, Maria Gadú, numa participação exclusiva. Além disso, haverá a exibição do filme Oscar Niemeyer – a vida é um sopro, de Fabiano Maciel.
