“Keep the Faith”
On July 9, Ridgefield First Selectman Rudy Marconi honored Rev. Phyllis J. Leopold, ARC Executive Director and Rev. Sue Spencer, ARC Board Member, upon the 25th Anniversary of their ordination into ministry, at a Reception called “Keep the Faith” held at Tarrywile Mansion on June 28.
First Selectman Marconi presented each minister with a Proclamation recognizing her milestones.
Rev. Leopold was ordained in the Methodist tradition and she is a graduate of Yale Divinity School.
Rev. Spencer was ordained in the Unitarian/Universalist tradition and graduated from Harvard Divinity School.
Rev. Angelo S. Arrando, ARC Board President and Master of Ceremonies for the Reception, invoked the spirits of previous ARC leaders, including his predecessor as ARC President, Rev. Mark Lingle, and the former Executive Director Sam Diebler, who served for nearly 30 years.
The “Keep the Faith” reception was attended by friends of the ARC from Buddhist, Christian, Jewish, Islamic and Unitarian/Universalist backgrounds.
Proceeds from “Keep the Faith” benefit ARC’s 7th Annual Interfaith Peace Camp, open to all children, ages 9 to 12. Because of funding raised at the Reception, the $65 camp registration fee can be waived for all children from homes where there is financial hardship or unemployment.
For further information on how to enroll children in Interfaith Peace Camp, please call Rev. Leopold at ARC at (203) 792-9450.
