“Read Around the World” while cooling off at the library

Dear Editor,

After months of construction on the heating and ventilation system, Danbury Library Director Mark Hasskarl wants everyone to know the library’s new system is now operating and keeping customers and staff cool and comfortable. He would also like to thank everyone for their patience during this long process. Mr. Hasskarl invites everyone to come in and cool off during this heat wave and to sign up for this year’s “Read Around the World” Summer Reading Program. The library is offering great programs through Saturday, August 7, and all age categories – kids, teens and adults – can win great prizes, just by reading.

Mayor Boughton has again issued a reading challenge to students in grades 1-8 and if they meet the goal, they will be invited to a special ceremony with the mayor at City Hall in August.
