      Ten Danbury children have been given the opportunity to learn more about the outdoors, work with animals, swim, and play with their peers because of a scholarship program sponsored by Danbury Children First.

Danbury Public Schools receive $10,000 gift from Union Savings Bank
      As part of its ongoing efforts to support education in the communities it serves, Union Savings Bank has donated $10,000 to Danbury Public Schools. The funds will be used to preserve ASPIRA, a mentoring program for second language learners at Rogers Park Middle School.

Coping with the loss of their beloved son
      On July 30, Carlos and Sonia Zhunio’s lives took a turn they never expected to experience. They lost their beloved 4-year old son. Eric Zhunio died in the morning of July 30 at Westchester Medical Center, in Valhalla, N.Y., after being hit by a pickup truck the evening before on Stevens Street, a narrow residential connector between New and West streets in Danbury.
