Highland Avenue Park shouldn’t go to the dogs!
     Dear Editor, When I read in Saturday’s paper that the City Council Committee reviewing a City Dog Park was focusing on Highland Avenue Park as a possible location, I thought this has to be a mistake!

PUBLIC ANNOUNCEMENT: Danbury opens cooling site
     Mayor Mark Boughton has announced that the City of Danbury has opened one cooling site for residents and pedestrians. Residents who do not have access to cooling systems or who are without power are welcome to use the cooling site. An air-conditioned Hart Bus is located in front of Ives Manor, 198 Main Street, from 11 am to 4pm.

Concessions package leave many state workers in limbo
     The question of whether or not state employees will be able to hold their jobs remains unanswered. However, a new tentative concession deal with the administration of Gov. Dannel P. Malloy by the State Employees Bargaining Agent Coalition (SEBAC) has given laid-off employees the hope that their jobs might be saved.
