City receives $15,000 grant for Financial Literacy Education The City of Bridgeport has been awarded a $15,000 DollarWI$E Innovation Grant from the U.S. Conference of Mayors to help students learn about financial literacy. The City will be partnering with the Personal Care America Federal Credit Union, the Credit Union League of Connecticut, the Greater Bridgeport Regional Business Council and the Bridgeport Board of Education to offer a Financial Literacy Campaign to Bridgeport students. With DollarWI$E funding, a financial education curriculum will be implemented to provide middle school and high school students an understanding of the importance of personal finance. The official presentation of the award took place during the closing plenary session of U.S. Conference of Mayors 80th Annual Winter Meeting in Washington, DC, on Friday, January 20. |
