“Let’s shake it for a great cause,” said Nina Merlonghi, fitness instructor and owner of Punchthesky Fitness (PTSF) in Fairfield, when she held her second annual Zumba “master class” fundraiser party to benefit the Norma Pfriem Breast Center at Bridgeport Hospital as part of October’s breast cancer awareness month and the Fairfield “Pink Pledge.”

Nina’s master classes are known to be decorative, vibrant, fun and packed with participants; it was no surprise when the event “went pink.” Participants wore pink in the pink balloon decorated room as Nina and guest instructors led the Zumba dancing party with DJ Stillo. The money raised from this event will benefit the Center.

The Norma Pfriem Breast Center is the first freestanding community breast center in Connecticut to offer one-stop coordination care, patient navigation and rapid diagnosis.

The Pink Pledge was a month long, community wide, awareness and fundraising campaign for the purpose of enabling the Center to continue to provide the lifesaving programs and critical care to all women regardless of their ability to pay, according to the website www.pinkpledge.org.
