Receptions were held all over the cities of Danbury, New Milford and Waterbury to award 56 agencies with $162,500 presented by the Savings Bank of Danbury Foundation, an increase of 5 percent in contributions over last year. A committee of Savings Bank of Danbury corporators, directors and bank officers administer the SBD Foundation.
The Savings Bank of Danbury is a strong community leader in the greater Danbury, Stamford and Waterbury areas. The Foundation was established in 2004 and, since that time, it has awarded $1,412,686 to local non-profit organizations making a positive difference in the communities in which we live and work.
The grants help support agencies in the areas of Affordable Housing, Arts and Culture, Community Service and Economic Development, Education and Health and Human Service.
