Syria: A diplomatic solution may put U.S. on track to military action

In the past two weeks, the United States nearly dove into another war in the Middle East, this time in Syria, which has been experiencing civil war for the past two years. The international community, to the dismay of the Syrian population, has not made efforts to stop the Syrian regime from killing thousands of its citizens. Reports are that over 100,000 civilians have been killed.
