Danbury Library Launches 2026 Winter Reading Challenge

By Tribuna Staff

Danbury Library is inviting readers of all ages to start the new year with a good book through its annual Winter Reading Bingo Challenge, running from Jan. 1 through Feb. 28, 2026.

The program encourages community members to build or renew a reading habit as part of their 2026 goals. Participants can pick up a Winter Reading Bingo board at any library service desk and complete a variety of reading and activity prompts for a chance to win prizes.

Readers who complete one full row on the bingo board will be entered into a prize drawing for a cozy winter-themed gift basket, generously donated by the Friends of the Danbury Library. Those who complete the entire board will receive a second entry into the drawing.

Participants looking for book suggestions can explore curated reading lists created by Danbury librarians at danburylibrary.org/winter-read, designed to help match titles with bingo prompts.

This year’s grand prize basket includes winter comfort items as well as four passes to the Danbury Ice Arena. The passes are valid for 1.5 hours of ice skating and include skate rental, offering a seasonal experience both on and off the page.

All completed bingo cards must be returned by the end of the day on Feb. 28. The prize drawing will take place March 3, and the winner will be contacted directly by library staff.
