A new citywide celebration will bring together culture, community, and philanthropy this summer, as the inaugural Day of Danbury Cultural Festival & Charity Night takes place on June 27–28 at the Danbury Green and The Palace Theater.
Organized by Living Traditions Foundation Inc., with support from the Danbury Cultural Commission, Danbury Cultural Alliance, and CityCenter Danbury, the two-day event invites residents and visitors to experience the city’s rich multicultural identity through music, food, art, and shared experiences. Admission to the outdoor festival is free of charge and open to the public.
The Danbury Green will serve as the heart of the celebration, with programming scheduled for Saturday, June 27, from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m., and Sunday, June 28, from noon to 8 p.m. Attendees can expect live performances, diverse food vendors, artisan goods, family-friendly activities, and interactive programming reflecting the cultures that shape Danbury.
On Saturday evening, June 27, the celebration continues indoors at The Palace Theater with a ticketed Charity Night from 6:30 p.m. to 10 p.m. The event will welcome nearly 400 guests and will feature a red-carpet arrival, VIP reception, live entertainment, and the exclusive premiere of a documentary highlighting Danbury’s cultural richness and community stories.
“Danbury is one of the most culturally vibrant cities in Connecticut, and Day of Danbury is our way of putting that richness on full display,” said Alex Vintimilla, festival organizer and Danbury resident. “We invite local businesses and leaders to join us in turning that pride into real, lasting impact.”
Beyond celebration, the event aims to generate meaningful support for local nonprofit organizations. Organizers are seeking community and corporate sponsors at multiple levels, from $500 to $30,000, with a fundraising goal of $90,000. Sponsorship opportunities offer brand visibility, community engagement, VIP access, and the chance to support two days of free public programming.
All net proceeds from the Charity Night will benefit three organizations serving the Danbury community.
The New American Dream Foundation, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit, supports immigrant and first-generation families across generations by expanding access to education, health services, and civic engagement. Funds raised directly support the Senior Hot Meal Program, which delivers meals and companionship to more than 650 seniors in Danbury’s tax-credit housing communities, providing nourishment, connection, and dignity.
The Center for Empowerment & Education, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit, provides counseling, advocacy, crisis intervention, and emergency shelter to individuals affected by violence and trauma, offering free and confidential services, a 24/7 hotline, and prevention education to support safety, healing, and long-term stability.
Living Traditions Foundation Inc., the event’s organizer, is dedicated to preserving cultural heritage through the arts, storytelling, and community programming, while also supporting first-time entrepreneurs in hospitality, music, sports, and the arts.
Based in Danbury, Living Traditions Foundation Inc., a 501(c)(3) nonprofit, is producing the festival, overseeing creative direction, programming, and vendor selection.
Community members, families, and visitors are encouraged to attend and take part in a weekend designed to celebrate culture, connection, and community impact in the heart of Danbury.
